President's Message

Steve Fritz, Staff Amusements of Hanover
PAMMA President

March 2, 2012

Dear PAMMA member:

This is my first letter as your new President. The Board chose me at our annual PAMMA retreat February 16th in Bedford. We discussed our plans to lead our association for the next year. I am very excited about the opportunity to meet and work with many of you in the coming months.

We are planning our annual meeting this summer in the Pittsburgh area. Our annual dart tournament will be November 16, 17, and 18 in Carlisle, PA.  PAMMA will be sending you more information as soon as details are finalized. I hope you can join us.

Our lobbyists in Harrisburg are working on several issues that in fact could affect PAMMA members so it's extremely important that we maintain a voice in Harrisburg. There is currently legislation pending in the Senate that would ban video sweepstakes establishments. This is the newest fad in many states across the country. We want to make sure that the bill will not impact your other video machines that you may currently be running.

PAMMA sent you a synopsis of two major bills that were signed into law in the past few months. One made several significant changes in the liquor code and the other was a major rewrite of the small games of chance law for your clubs. If you didn't see them call our office and we will send you another.

I want this year to be a good one for all of us in the coin-op business.  Thank you for being a member of PAMMA once again. I welcome your ideas and encourage you to contact me (717) 632-7455 or our Executive Director, John Milliron, 1-800-521-7778 if you have any ideas or suggestions on how we can improve your association.

Best wishes.
